The OG Dog
Where the whole thing started. Frankfurt, soft white roll, ketchup and mustard laid on in stripes, chips piled in beside it. Nothing to hide behind.

Where we are this week

How it's built
Soft, fresh, sturdy enough to hold everything we throw at it — and no more.
Cooked to order on the flat top. The snap isn't negotiable.
Made by us, in small batches. Charcoal aioli, salsa verde, sweet-and-sour — none of it comes out of a catering tin.
Pickles, crackling, herbs, nori. The bit that makes people stop and ask what it is.
Our story
Stray Dogs started with a simple grudge: the humble hot dog gets treated like an afterthought. So we built a cart, learned to make everything ourselves, and started turning up wherever the good markets are.
Everything is cooked in front of you, on a flat top, under a yellow marquee you can spot from the car park. Some weekends that's Coburg. Some weekends it's Docklands. Some nights it's the back bar of a pub in North Melbourne at half past nine.
If you've queued in the rain for one — thank you. That's the reason the specials keep getting stranger.
The good stuff
Dogs being made, dogs being demolished. A loose collection from wherever the cart pulled up last.
Private hire
We pack the whole operation into a van and set up almost anywhere with a bit of flat ground. Tell us the date, the headcount and roughly how hungry everyone will be.
Say hello
Questions, bookings, wild ideas for a dog we haven't made yet — pick a filling and pile it in. We read everything between services.
Never lose the scent
One short email on a Monday: the markets we're at that week, and whatever's going on the specials board.
